Best time to aerate in Utah

Cool-season Utah lawns (Kentucky bluegrass, fescue) do best aerated in spring (April to May) or early fall (September to early October), when grass is actively growing. Water the lawn a day or two before so the tines go deep.

Who does the work

Vetted, insured local crews from our partner network, licensed where Utah requires it. We handle booking, routing and support, and stay your point of contact from request to payment.

Lawn aeration FAQ

Do I need to mark my sprinkler heads?

The crew flags the heads they can see. Please mark anything hidden: shallow drip lines, invisible dog fences, low-voltage lighting cables.

Is spring or fall better?

Both work for Utah's cool-season grass. Spring aeration helps the lawn before summer heat; fall aeration helps it recover from summer. We open spring routes first.

Will it look messy?

For about a week. The soil plugs break down after a couple of waterings or mowings.
