Frequently asked questions
How do I count my sprinkler zones?
Look at your sprinkler controller (the timer box in the garage or on an outside wall). Each numbered station that's wired is one zone; most Wasatch Front homes have 4–12. Drip lines count as zones too. Not sure? Pick your best guess. If the tech finds more or fewer zones on site, you pay for the real count at $15 each (the $75 minimum still applies).
What does $15 per zone include?
A compressed-air winterization (blowout) of every zone on your system using a commercial-size compressor, plus shutting the system down for winter. There's no separate trip fee or compressor fee. The price is zones × $15 with a $75 minimum (5 zones), so 3 zones is $75, 6 zones is $90 and 8 zones is $120.
When do I pay?
When the job is done. Sending a booking request costs nothing, and no payment is collected online. We call or text to confirm your time, the tech blows out your system, and you pay after.
When should I blow out my sprinklers in Salt Lake City?
Before the first hard freeze (28°F or colder). Salt Lake County usually sees first frost around Oct 21–31 and Utah County around Oct 11–20. A widely used local guide suggests upper benches by Oct 15, the south valley by Oct 31, and valley-floor homes in SLC, Murray, Holladay, Millcreek and Provo by Nov 7.
Do I have to be home?
Usually not, as long as the tech can reach your irrigation shutoff valve, backflow preventer and controller. Add gate codes, dog notes or where your controller is in the booking form.
What if it freezes before my appointment?
Don't run your sprinklers once temperatures drop below freezing, and close your irrigation shutoff valve if you know where it is. A single light frost rarely damages a system that's already shut off. A long hard freeze with water sitting in the backflow and pipes is what causes cracks. If we can't get to you before your area's deadline, we'll tell you right away.
Who actually does the work?
Local irrigation technicians from our partner network do the work, and we handle booking, scheduling and support. We work only with contractors who hold the licensing and insurance Utah requires for irrigation work.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes, any time. Nothing is paid upfront, so there's nothing to refund. Just call or text (385) 743-8966 so we can offer your slot to a neighbor.
Do you do spring sprinkler startups too?
Spring startups open when secondary water comes back on, usually mid-April to early May. Join the spring waitlist and we'll email you before booking opens.
